Hellooooooo!
Randomness is wonderful, isn't it? Normal people seem to get weirded out by it, but who wants to be normal, anyway? Normalness. Bah. It's so overrated.
So remember how I said I'd be doing lots and lots of Enjolras/Les Miserables posts? I think I will do one now.
For those of you poor little potatoes out there who don't know what Les Miserables (or Enjolras) is, (SPOILER ALERT) it's a book/musical/movie about 1832 France in which a convict steals a loaf of bread and becomes good but is hunted by a slightly insane police inspector for like 10 years after, who then adopts an orphan girl who falls in love with a wealthy student (the girl, not the convict) who is in a group of students called Les Amis de l'ABC and these students don't like what's going on in the government so they start a revolution with barricades!! Enjolras is the leader of these student revolutionaries. To make a long story short, everyone dies. (It ain't called "The Miserables" for nothin'!")
That's about it.
The book is better than the movie/musical, of course. But not many people read it because it's about 1,500 pages long.
The Brick--(not my picture) |
And then watch the movie.
The movieeeeee *swoons* |
Can we please take a moment to appreciate how beautiful this image is?
The music brings me to tears, like, every single time I listen to it.
Some songs I can't even listen to now because they just break my heart and ruin my day with sadness. (The Final Battle, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, Drink With Me, etc etc etc...)
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Les Miserables will break your heart and crush your soul and you will drown in a sea of your tears.
Alright, now that you have somewhat of an idea what Les Miserables is, let's move on to Enjolras!
This is Enjolras:
Lookit this gorgeous revolutionary. |
Oh and here is how you pronounce his name:
Brought to you by Aaron Tveit, who played Enjolras in le movie |
SO SAY IT RIGHT, PEOPLE!
*realizes that this post was supposed to be about something totally different and it ended up as Les Mis*
Oh well! Let's keep going, shall we?
I just really like Les Miserables, okay? (And by Les Miserables, I mean Enjolras)
ENJOLRAS!!!!!! *flails*
I need to get a life...
So! Back to the point of this post. I decided to draw Enjolras recently. This is the final product:
Mah baby <3 |
His hair was sooooo freakin' hard to draw. O_O Blonde hair is NOT easy. At all.
This took about a month, I think. I kept on putting it off because the hair was driving me insane.
So as with all the pictures I draw, the first thing I need to do was find a picture to reference. That's always the hardest part about drawing. I ended up going with this one:
But I wanted to draw his glorious red coat, so I combined it with these two:
I meant to have a step-by-step collection of photos of the picture, but...I kinda forgot. Eheh. I get wrapped up in drawing and forget to stop to take pictures every time I draw something. Seriously, it's getting to be a problem.
But I do have a few...
Looks terrible, right? |
This is the stage where I start texting pics of it to all my dear, long-suffering friends and saying,
"LOOK I'M DRAWING A NEW THING!"
I was too scared to start the coat so this sat in my notebook for weeks |
Almost finisheddddd |
And those are all the pics I have, unfortunately. Let me know what you think of the picture. :) I didn't mean for this post to be all about Les Miserables (*cough* Enjolras)...I promise.
Well, ta ta minions! I must leave you. I have math to do. Au revoir!
