Day Three // Civil War Blog Party

Day Three:  Pick one supporting character from your team and talk about him

Any...character? 

AHAHAHAHA BUCKY BARNESSSSS

Ehehe.  Just kiddddiiiiiing.  I'll save Bucky for another day.  Be prepared for a long Bucky rant in the near future.  It'll happen. 



As much as I love Bucky, there are other characters that are calling for the spotlight and threatening to kill me if I don't talk about them. 

So let's talk about another character I really love but doesn't really get talked about for some bizarre reason:

Clint Barton aka Hawkeye

I love Clint.  Why is he so underrated?????  He's FABULOUS. 

Clint Barton provides the dry snark to the group.  He is a moody and quiet person but you get on his bad side and BOOM.  Arrow through the gullet before you can say "HAIL HYDRA". 

But it's not just his character that I like. 

Clint is the only Avenger who--correct me if I'm wrong--is married.  He has a wife and kids!  So not only does he have to look out for humanity, but he has a freaking FAMILY to look out for. 

Also his family is adorable.  And his wife ROCKS.  Laura Barton is an amazing woman; I mean her husband is a superhero who is pretty much always in danger and she has to share him with the government.  She knows that whenever he gets called away on a mission, there is a chance he may never come back. 

And she doesn't complain or make a fuss. 


So Clint is the only family man of the Avengers group, and he keeps his family hidden so they can be safe.  But he's such a great dad.  And a great husband. 


He's like the father-figure in the Avengers, too.  Sometimes he reminds me of a tired single dad trying to tolerate his rebellious teenagers. 

In Civil War, from the very beginning he acts as dad to Wanda Maximoff.  It's so sweet.  And so sad...he has kind of adopted her as she, him.  They protect each other.  It's as if he's saying he's sorry for Pietro's death....because after all, Wanda's brother died to save Clint's life.  So Clint and Wanda have formed a bond and he looks out for her because she's only a kid. 

I hate when people try to ship Clint and Wanda.  Just because they are close doesn't mean it's a romantic relationship!  Ugh.  And no, Natasha and Wanda are NOT rivals. 


And speaking of Natasha Romanoff, I love her and Clint's friendship.  They're like best friends and would probably destroy a small country to find each other if one of them went missing....Whatever happened in Budapest, it made for these two to become inseparable.  All we know is that Clint was sent to kill Natasha, but according to her, "he made a different call". 


So in Civil War, when Nat and Clint are on opposite sides and fighting each other, it's sad. 


Natasha says, in mid-fighting, "We're still friends, right?"


And Clint replies, "Depends on how hard you hit me."


But you know that even though they're fighting, they are still best friends and nothing will stop that.  Wanda had to step in and help Clint because he was "pulling his punches". 


So let's talk about Clint Barton being on Team Cap.  It makes sense, though.  In my opinion, he's on Cap's side because of Bucky.  He's standing up for Bucky because he knows what's it's like to have your mind controlled and do things you normally wouldn't.  Remember in The Avengers?  When Barton was compromised by Loki? 


He understands that it wasn't Bucky's fault, but HYRDA's.  He knows what Bucky is going through, mentally, and he is going to protect him.  Because he knows that Bucky is innocent.


Besides, Clint and Cap share a lot of the same morals and ideals. 


Also the sass.  Did I mention the sass?

And something else.  Clint Barton, ladies and gentlemen, is only human.  While the other Avengers all are enhanced humans, mutations, gods, or have cool gadgets and suits, Clint Barton is just. a. normal. human. being. 

No special powers, not fancy gadgets, notta.  He's extraordinary by his own making and training.  And too many people forget this.  Clint Barton may not be one of the most popular Avengers, he may not be the flashiest or the hottest or the most powerful.  But he has something the others don't have.  Pure humanity. 


And that's such a good message for us.  That a normal person could become great because of willpower, not a magic serum. 


Clint Barton represents us, I think.  He represents all the normal people with families and loved ones and a normal life.  He shows us that it takes perseverance and human strength to become a superhero. 


Also the snark.

Where is my Hawkeye/Black Widow movie already?????  I want "What Happened In Budapest" now, people!!!!  A whole trilogy of Hawkeye and Black Widow being epic and shooting stuff.  Anyone else with me?

Day Two // Civil War Blog Party

DAY TWO HAS ARRIVED. 


DAY TWO: THE TAG!!!!


Time to answer questions. 

1.) What is your favorite Captain America movie?

ERMMMM.  Can I choose them all?  No?  Drat.  Well, if I had to choose one favorite, it would have to be Civil War.  Because REASONS.  AND FEELS.  ALL THE NEW PEOPLE.  SO MUCH SADNESS.  It's like my heart got ripped out and thrown on the floor and was trampled on and THEN was shoved back into my chest for me to attempt to function normally again. 

Not.  Going.  To.  Happen.

But I love them all, really.  Each movie builds so much on the characters and you grow to love them more and more with each film.

 2.) When did you decide you loved Captain America?

Well the first Marvel movie I ever saw was The Avengers....so I think the part where I went, "Oh yeah, I like this guy.  A lot." was this scene:

It was insta-love, guys.  THE SNARK.  THE TRUTH.  CAPTAIN AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN.  *cheers*  I still grin insanely over this scene every time I watch it. 

The other part that sealed the deal for me was this part:

He's such an adorkable person.  (For the record, I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE, TOOOOOO.) 

Then basically every other epic Cap scene in The Avengers.  (And there were a lot.)  I left that movie with no doubt about who my favorite character was.

 3.) Do you tend to agree with Steve's thinking/logic?

I think I do? 

Yes, I do tend to agree with his thinking and logic.  For the most part.  Then again I can agree with ALL of the characters at some point so....

I have a bit of Stockholm Syndrome where I can relate to every single character and sympathize with them and so everything is really biased and it's hard to find flaws.

 4.) What is one thing about Steve that drives you insane?

NOTHING ABOUT STEVE DRIVES ME INSANE HOW DARE YOU INSINUATE THAT PRECIOUS CHIPMUNK COULD DRIVE ANYONE INSANE???

Just kidding.  I can probably dig up something against him.

It's hard for me to think right now because I'm tired and haven't seen the movies in forevah.

Steve can be pretty stubborn (especially in Civil War gawsh) and his stubbornness can get a liiiiitttle out of hand. 


5.)  What is your favorite Steve scene?


All of them. 

 6.) What is something about Steve that you really admire?

Um, everything?  His sense of loyalty and honor, his bravery and courage, his fierce devotion and the way he always tries to do what's right. 

Also his morals.  Gawsh.  And how he doesn't tolerate language...it's adorable, really.





 7.) Do you think you would like Steve in real life?

If he wasn't so old and I wasn't just a teenager, I think we would be best friends.  We have soooo much in commonnnnn. 

 8.) What do you think of Steve's motorcycle, and would you want a ride on it?

I FREAKING LOVE HIS MOTORCYCLE.  AND HECK YEAH, I WOULD LOVE TO RIDE ON IT.  As long as Steve drove and I could sit behind and wrap my arms around his waist so to not fall off.  (Stop judging me people you know you want to do the same thing)

 9.) What was an iconic "STEVE FREAKIN' ROGERS" moment for you?

Most iconic?  Ooooh.  That's hard. 

*thinks hard*

Nope, can't choose. 

But one moment that hit home was the scene where pre-serum Steve jumped on the fake grenade in the army camp.  Actually I think most of my favorite "STEVE FREAKIN ROGERS" moments were when Steve was still a scrawny string bean. 

 10.) If Steve asked you on a date, would you accept?

UM, YEAH?????!!!!

Day One // Civil War Blog Party

See this is why I am not a superhero.  I would damage things.


Ahem, sorry, what were we talking about?  I got distracted by the shiny things.  Mainly shields and Buckys.


THE PARTY HAS BEGUUUNNNNN.  AH'M SO EXCITED.  ARE YOU EXCITED?

Okey.  Time to get this show on the road, peoples!


DAY ONE:  PICK A SIDE!  Tell your reasons for the decision!!!!  What you love about him, what you don't...All that jazz.


Oh this is easy.  I've had my team picked for months now.


BUT THEN I WATCHED THE MOVIE AND WAS PROMPTLY REDUCED TO THIS:

Yeah the movie changed all my opinions on the teams and stuff...Because now I agree with Tony AND Steve and they both are right and wrong and...UGH.


I hate decisions. 




But BEFORE the movie (and sorta still now) I was and am...


TEAM CAP

Captain America is definitely one of my favorite Avengers.  (Also Bucky is his best friend and sidekick and on his team so where Bucky goes, I go)


Reasons Why I Am Team Cap:


Cap stands for everything that is good and right and moral.  Cap has always been the voice of reason and morals since the very beginning!  He is the only Avenger that seems...I don't know how to put it....innocent.  Cap is a truthful, good man and he doesn't let his power corrupt him or turn him into something he is not.  That's something I've always loved about the Captain America movies.


In Civil War, Cap just wants to keep his best friend safe and refuses to let the government take control of him.  He does what he knows is the right thing even it means becoming hunting by the law and his friends. 


Cap is the best role model anyone could have.  He isn't afraid to fight for what he believes in and he would do anything to protect his best friend.


Also I can relate to Cap.  Cause I would start a civil war over Bucky, too.

That's why I love Cap.


Plus he has the best quotes.

And the best outfit.  I mean seriously.  Guys.

Things I Dislike About Captain Steve Rogers:


Nothing, nothing, and nothing.


Okay sometimes he can be a bit Dad-ish about things, but other than that, he is le perfect man, y'all.  I want a Steve Rogers.  Or a Bucky Barnes.  Or both.  I don't know.


But seriously though, asking me to choose my favorite Avenger is like asking me to choose my favorite child.  I LOVE THEM ALLLL.  It's just...Steve is that angelic firstborn child with the blond hair who is obedient and sweet and a good child unlike his angsty siblings who just want to blow stuff up.


SO STEVE.  AND BUCKY.

Sorry.  Thinking of Steve makes me think of Bucky.  Actually not sorry at all.


You know what, scrap all of that.  I want to be Team Bucky!  But there isn't a Team Bucky and that makes me sad.  Meh.  WHO CARES.  TEAM BUCKY.

So yes, if this post wasn't clear, I'm torn between Team Cap and Team Bucky.  TORN, I TELL YOU. 


Okay maybe more Team Bucky than Team Cap.  It depends. 


Nope, back to Team Cap.  Nevermind. 


Well that was the first day of the blog party!!  Now I must go save Gotham.  (COUGHCOUGHCOUGH sorry wrong one)  Now I must go save...something.  Bucky.  Yeah, I'll go save Bucky.

Civil War Blog Party!!!!!

SO THINGS HAPPENED LAST WEEK. 


I SAW "CIVIL WAR".  Twice, I might add.

It was beautiful, guys.  Beautiful. 


My general reactions to Civil War:

And most importantly of all....

So yeah, it was the best movie I've seen in a long, long time.

The first time I saw it, I was blubbering and crying so hard afterwards that I had to go hug the life-size Bucky poster out in the theater hallway.  Gosh I wanted to take that Bucky stand-up poster home. 


BECAUSE BUCKY.  BUCCCKKKKYYYYYYYYYYYY mah baby....*sniffles*

so much feelsssss

Now I randomly mumble and shriek loudly "Buckyyyy" to myself and it annoys people but I'm not sane and I love James Buchanan Barnes very much so deal with it.

It was beyond amazing, and I am planning on seeing it again. 


Also, I'm participating in a blog party!! 


(I have never done this before so I have absolutely no idea how it works or anything but I'm going to give it a shot because IT SOUNDS FUN.)

Life Update // Tea, Bridal Showers, and Book Covers

Ho, minions! 


I did stuff in the past week that I must share with all of you.   I'm sure you don't care, but you will read about it anyway.  I command it.


#1 Thing That Happened:

I discovered fell in love with a new kind of tea called White Pomegranate which is my new favorite thing on the planet besides Aaron Tveit.  It's PURPLE.  Not white, purple.  I have never seen purple tea before.   


PURPLE TEA IS SO PRETTY.  I think part of the reason why I like it so much is because it's such a novelty to drink purple tea.  Also, I'm not a tea person, I usually hate the stuff, so finding a tea I actually like is quite the momentous discovery.


#2 Thing That Happened:


All my friends' siblings and relatives seem to be getting married all of a sudden so in the past two weeks I have attended two different bridal showers.  I LOVE BRIDAL SHOWERS.  And weddings.  I love weddings.

Yep so anyway, at one of the bridal showers, we played that thing where you make a wedding dress out of toilet paper and then you have to model it and it's hilarious and so much fun...ANYWAYS I WAS ONE OF THE TOILET PAPER WEDDING DRESS MODELS.

It was so funny.  My team of two people decided to make a mermaid skirt and that kinda failed because they forgot to double layer the dress and when I was supposed to walk I was only able to stiffly waddle and I couldn't breathe or it would fall or rip....


So it ended up dying.  Because of the strain of waddling and not breathing.  My designers failed me. 


But yes, so that was exciting. 

#3 Thing That Happened:


I HAVE A NEW BOOK COVER FOR "A GAME OF CHESS"!!!!!!!!!! 


I finally got tired of my ugly homemade cover so I had one made at a cover shop on Figment and oh my word it's gorgeous and I love it so much. 

ISN'T IT PRETTY?????  It makes me ridiculously happy.  When it arrived I ran around the house yelling, "MY COVER CAME IN MY COVER CAME IN" and all my family had to drop what they were doing to come admire it. 






Anyway, that's all that's new in my life.  Just spent the afternoon in bed watching Aaron Tveit videos.  I need to get a life.
